My Friend's Wedding

I was on my way to office on a busy monday. And then my phone started ringing. It was vijayalakshmi, My best friend in my college. I was not in a mood to talk since i was travelling amidst busy traffic, so I decided not to respond. But, she called me again and again and i felt something serious and I picked the call. After the formal questions i could feel that her voice was dull. I talked to her but I felt she is hesitating to tell me something. Finally she told me "Sunitha! I have a problem. Yesterday I was talking with Sandilyan and I heard a girl's voice in between". Sandilyan is the guy to whom she is engaged to. I was confused "so what da? Is it that he should not talk to any girl?". And here goes the conversation.
Viji "It was 12 in night".
I "God he might have been in office".
Viji "Nopes when I enquired him he told me, he is with no one and he was in his room only".
I " Viji may be he is right. Some guys when they laugh they might sound feminine."
Viji "And also he always talks about my sister. Whenever we talk he always enquire about her.He says she is more smart than me. She has better dressing sense than me." I could feel she was in tears. So I kept quiet for a while. Then I told her "Ok da. I feel you have started liking him very much and you are feeling jealous about him."
Viji "No, He feels I am fat and he says I have to reduce. Everytime he asks me to reduce. He says I need to put down weight, I need to do pedicure. He says I need to improve my complexion."
I got irritated. Because I have seen many guys who do like this to girls. Making them feel low.
I "Ok what do you want me to do ? U just relax now. Later think with clear mind. I feel you can directly ask him about everything."
Viji "Sunitha, Can you talk to him once and tell me how is he? I want to know how does he present himself to a third person."
I "Ok viji. U think about this. If i tell you that he spoke like a rogue to me, Would you be able to stop the marriage? You decide about this and then tell me. Then I will call him." I kept the phone down. At lunch hour again my another friend called me and told that viji havent eaten anything since yesterday. She is still diturbed with this and she wants me to call. I called viji and scolded her, advised her for a while but she was stubborn about this. So I decided to call him as a person who by mistake dialled a wrong number.
I gave a call to his number and disconnected with a missed call. He called back, and enquired about me I asked for Shankar and as per my plan told him that it was my frds number before, and started talking like "what is he doing? Whether he is married or what? "
And he sound very cheerful and nice. But I would have asked him around some 6 times during the15 minutes call whether he is married or engaged or in love and his reply was all the time no.

My girl friends told me that he is a flirt and not a good guy, since being engaged to a girl he is talking to another and that too to a unknown girl in a long distance call. No good guy would spend like this for a unknown wrong number.
My friends who were guys had a different arguement that Sandi has liked the Viji. So only he wants her to look the best. So he is providing all the suggestions for her to become a best girl. And then as far as talking to me is concerned that any guy would talk like that only. All guys like to passed their time in this kind of vetti kadalai. We cannot filter guys with this as a bad quality. I was confused what to tell Viji.
Again he called me the next day, He told all the details about him, from his salary to his siblings workplace, but not about Viji. Then he told me about his habbit of going to late night parties, where he gets drink for others but he never drinks. Since I dont know much about this late nite parties I was not in a situation to judge him still. But i could feel that he was not a responsible or serious person. And we held a discussion with my friends and I told to Viji whatever happened?
We all suggested Viji that someone from her family should go to the city where the Sandi is working to enquire about him once before marriage. How much ever times we advised, she was not taking it seriously. Actually only on that day viji was sad about hearing a girls voice, later she forgot about it and she reconciled with Sandi.

There was 4 months duration of time present between their engagement and marriage and all the while she was busy talking to him. If once in a while she feels hurt with his comments on her looks( she is not a bad looking girl), she convinces herself. And she was falling madly in luv with sandi, She reduced around 10 kgs in 3 months and we were able to see how much she liked him? She started wearing jeans, skirts as per our heroes choice. In our group we were fuming with anger. We girls felt that he has no rights to change her personality, her looks. Guys were arguing that, thats what happens in luv.
She got married with all dreams. We all attended her marriage. And We prayed, However he was in past, He should be sincere to Viji atleast in future.
